D-7 Dispatch Visa Extension – Documents & Process

D-7 Visa Extension — This page covers everything needed to renew a D-7 Dispatch visa in Korea: required documents, eligibility conditions, timing, and the application process.

1. Overview

D-7 visa extension (period of stay extension) is available to holders who continue their dispatch assignment at a Korean entity. To renew, you must demonstrate that the original dispatch relationship is still in effect and that the Korean company remains in operation and in good standing.

Extensions are filed at the regional immigration office in Korea before the current visa expires. Under D-7, up to 3 years can be granted per grant, and each extension grants a new period (renewable, with no overall time limit on total stay).

2. When to Apply

  • Apply at the immigration office in Korea — no need to leave Korea
  • Submit your application before your current visa expiration date
  • Recommended: apply well before expiry to allow document preparation time
  • Staying beyond the permitted period may lead to penalties and may affect future applications
